CMA’s
Summer ARTS Workshop Series is a three week  series of visual art workshops taught by highly acclaimed and award-winning artists. H eld on the beautiful campus of Western Carolina University, in the Blue Ridge mountains, our popular   Summer Arts Workshop Series draws artists from all points in the US as well as attracting international students.

CMA has also created a series of Retreats + Workshops held at remote partner sites such as "Lake Logan Retreat Center" Canton, NC, " The Mable Dodge Luhan House," Taos, New Mexico, "Clancy Studio," Snow Hill Maryland and other inspiring locations.

Our
ART + TRIP events combine Workshops with Travel to an enriching destination - for 2017 it is New Zealand and in 2018 we will go to Southern France.

The Summer Arts Workshop Series: Creativity Nurtured in a Mountain Setting

Held on the beautiful campus of Western Carolina University, The  Summer Arts Workshop Series offers an exciting range of Art Workshops in Book Arts, Ceramics, Mixed Media, Painting, Printmaking and Photography.  During each week-long immersion, participants learn and discover new concepts and techniques, share thoughts and ideas in a setting surrounded by majestic mountains and summer botanicals. Imagine sharing ideas, meals, and outings with other artists from around this country and from other parts of the globe. At Cullowhee Mountain ARTS you will find a like-minded community of passionate learners, energized by instructors of national/international reputations. Students can focus entirely on developing new work where their daily concerns are left behind. Each workshop week includes an opening reception followed by a group meal, daily lunches when the week’s instructors give presentations, a Thursday afternoon museum visit and talk, and a studio stroll at the end of the week. Studios are open 7am to 11:00 pm for after workshop access.   Come, Learn, Create Collaborate!    More...
